Case filed against Madrasa chairman over child rape charges in Bangladesh

A case has been filed against Madrasa managing committee chairman in Mongla region of Bangladesh for allegedly raping two children.

The accused was identified as Awal Sardar.

He was arrested after a rape survivor's father filed the case with Mongla police station.

Mongla police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) KM Azizul Islam was quoted as saying by Dhaka Tribune: "Awal Sardar raped two children from a madrasa in Madur Palta village of Sundarbans union in Mongla upazila on February 10 and 14. In this incident, the father of one of the rape survivor’s children filed a case on Sunday morning under the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Act.”

Police are trying to arrest the accused.
