China's death is far higher than US: Donald Trump

Washington/IBNS: United States President Donald Trump has expressed doubts over the official figures of China's death toll due to the Coronavirus outbreak, claiming that the casualty is much higher than what has been declared.

In a tweet, he wrote: "China has just announced a doubling in the number of their deaths from the Invisible Enemy. It is far higher than that and far higher than the U.S., not even close!"

Trump's comment comes after China declared a revised death toll in connection with the Coronavirus outbreak where another 1,300 fatalities were added to the official count in the city of Wuhan, which was the epicentre of the deadly COVID-19.

With this addition, the total death toll in China reached more than 4,600.

"We are not number one; China is number one just so you understand. They are way ahead of us in terms of death. It''s not even close," Trump told reporters at a White House news conference on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the US has 39,089 deaths and 735,242 coronavirus positive cases.
