Nicosia, Mar 29 (IBNS) Negotiation with the hijackers, who hijacked an Egypt Air jet travelling from Alexandria to Cairo and landed it at Cyprus's Larnaca airport, have resulted in the release of all the passengers, barring the crew members and four foreigners.

A recent tweet from the airline read, "Negotiations with the Hijacker result in the release of all the passengers, except the crew and four foreigners."

Earlier it was reported that an Airbus 320, belonging to Egypt Air and carrying 81 passengers were hijacked by at least one armed terrorist, who forced the pilot to land the plane in Larnaca airport.

The hijacker reportedly said that he was wearing an explosive belt and threatened to take evasive action if his demand was not met.

The pilot responded to his claim and landed the flight in the desired location, post which a negotiation took place.
