FBI director Kash Patel on Saturday said the US will provide full support to the Indian government in the fight against terrorism, days after 26 tourists, mostly non-Muslims, died in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam.

Patel also condemned the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that has drawn worldwide condemnation.

Condemning the incident, Patel wrote on X: "The FBI sends our condolences to all the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir — and will continue offering our full support to the Indian government."

"This is a reminder of the constant threats our world faces from the evils of terrorism. Pray for those affected. Thank you to the men and women of law enforcement who answer the call in moments like these," he said.

Trump Called Attack Deeply Disturbing

Immediately after the attack in picturesque Baisaran meadows, a popular tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir, came to light, US President Donald Trump on Tuesday extended solidarity with India.

"Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against Terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies. Our hearts are with you all!" Trump posted on Truth Social.

Apart from posting his immediate reaction on Truth Social, Trump later on called Modi over telephone and expressed full support to India to bring to justice the perpetrators of the "heinous attack".

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote on X: "President Donald Trump @realDonaldTrump @POTUS called PM @narendramodi and conveyed his deepest condolences at the loss of innocent lives in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. President Trump strongly condemned the terror attack and expressed full support to India to bring to justice the perpetrators of this heinous attack. India and the United States stand together in the fight against terror."
