Four security personnel were killed while a traffic constable sustained injuries following an armed attack in Pishin and Khyber districts of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, media reports said.

The second attack occurred at a time when security forces were conducting investigations into the first incident.

Armed men riding motorcycles targeted a traffic policeman performing his duty at Jan Adha area of the busy Pishin Bazaar when he was shifted to hospital for treatment.

In another midnight attack on  a check post in Khyber district, two policemen and a civilian were killed.

Police told Dawn News an unknown number of militants opened fire on the Charwazgai check post, situated on the main Torkhum Highway, near the Landi Kotal army camp.
