Colombo: Sri Lanka's Lotus Tower management has said strict action will be taken against people who vandalized the structure.

The Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company revealed that a huge maintenance cost has been incurred as some people who visit the property have defaced it, reports Adaderana.

The Head of Business Development and Marketing Colombo Lotus Tower, Bimsara Rozairo urged the general public to refrain from engaging in acts of vandalism.

He told the news portal that several individuals were already under arrest for defacing the Lotus Tower.

The tower was unveiled to the public last year.

Interestingly, Sri Lanka and China signed the Lotus Tower agreement in 2012 to build the highest TV tower in South Asia.
