Pakistan: 2 killed in Loralai explosion

Islamabad: An explosion occurred close to a police vehicle here in Loralai area of Pakistan and left two people, including a suspected bomber, killed, media reports said on Tuesday.

According to local media reports, a police official was killed in the incident.

According to the reports, officers of the police's Eagle squad signalled two suspicious motorcyclists to stop but they did not heed the command and fled. During the consequent chase, there was an explosion, which left the police officer and the bomber dead, reported Geo News.

Loralai's district police officer (DPO), Jawad Tariq, confirmed to Geo News that one of the motorcyclists blew himself up as the officials were chasing them.

The area was cordoned off by the police after the explosion occurred.
