Quetta: At least six people died and 14 others were hurt as a blast rocked Pakistan's Chaman region on Friday, media reports said.

Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani was quoted as saying by Dawn News that the explosion took place during a Palestine solidarity rally taken out by the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam- Nazaryati (JUI) in Chaman's Murghi Bazaar.

He said JUI leaders Abdul Qadir Luni and Qari Mehrullah were unharmed in the explosion.

According to reports, 10 injured people were rushed to District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital Chaman. The remaining were taken to Quetta for treatment.

The entire area has been sealed.

Shahwani strongly condemned the attack, saying terrorists wanted to "destroy Balochistan's peace".

"The enemies of solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians are on the side of Israeli aggression," he was quoted a saying by Dawn News.

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has condemned the incident.
