Pakistan court summons Sharbat Gula

Islamabad, Nov 4 (IBNS): A Pakistani court summoned Sharbat Gula on Friday,media reports said.

Gula became popular across the globe after making it to a National Geographic cover.

The Federal Investigation Agency has filed interim chargesheet against Gula in connection with  a case related to forgery to secure Pakistani Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).

Her bail petition was rejected by a Pakistani court on Nov 2.

Judge Farah Jamshed Khan, who has dismissed bail petition of Sharbat Gula on Nov 2, has directed that the suspect should be produced on Friday, official sources told Dawn News.

Sharbat Gula, also known as Sharbat Bibi, is an Afghan woman who was living as a refugee in Pakistan during the time of the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan when she was photographed.

Sharbat Gula was the subject of  journalist  Steve McCurry's Afghan Girl.
