Pakistan: Explosion leaves two FC personnel dead

Quetta: Two officers of the Pakistani Frontier Corps died and three soldiers suffered injuries in an explosion close to their vehicle in  Kahan area of Kohlu district of the country on Friday, media reports said.

On the basis of credible intelligence, a sanitisation operation was initiated on Feb 10 in the Kohlu area to deny terrorists any liberty of action, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement as quoted by Dawn News.

During the action, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded close to the leading party, resultantly, two officers Major Jawad and Captain Sagheer embraced Shahadat and laid their lives in defence of the motherland.

It said that the sanitisation operation continues in the area to apprehend perpetrators and enemies of peace.

“Such cowardly acts by inimical elements cannot sabotage the hard earned peace and prosperity in Balochistan,” the ISPR stated, adding that security forces were determined to neutralize the nefarious designs even at the cost of their blood and lives.

The soldiers who sustained injuries were identified as Naik Barkatullah, sepoys Zafar and Hidayatullah.
