Pakistan: PIA employees end strike

Karachi, Feb 10 (IBNS): Ending a logjam, the Joint action Committee (JAC) of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees have ended their eight-day-long strike.

They were protesting against the proposed privatisation of the national flag carrier.

The JAC has directed employees to start flight operations in the nation with immediate effect. reports said.

JAC chairman Sohail Baloch was quoted as saying by Dawn News:"All airline workers to work with full dedication and pay no heed to anyone trying to disrupt flight operations."

He said the decision was taken after the government assured them to resolve issues.
