Pakistani police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his pregnant woman in Pakpattan region of the country.

According to reports, the suspect, who is identified as Muhammad Ahmed, threw his wife into the canal where she drowned to death.

The victim was identified as Muqadis Bibi.

The couple was married for three years.

They were expecting their second child.

According to reports, the suspect took Muqadis Bibi to a doctor for regular check-up and after taking medicines from a pharmacy, they went for a walk towards the canal.

During the walk, Ahmed allegedly pushed his wife into the water, Dawn News reported.

The suspect returned home and informed his family members that Muqadis had gone missing from the pharmacy.

Muqadis’ brother Ghulam Mustafa earlier filed a missing person's report.

Inspecting CCTV footage, police found that the couple went towards Jamal Chowk on a motorcycle together.

However, they found Ahmed returned home alone.

Police later recovered the body of the victim from Pakpattan Canal.
