| @indiablooms | Nov 17, 2023, at 11:47 pm

A Pakistani political figure named Rana Iftikhar and four others were killed when they were attacked by four bike-borne attackers in  Gujranwala city on Wednesday.

The police believe old enmity to be the reason behind the attack.

According to reports, Iftikhar was returning after attending a court hearing in Gujranwala city when the attack took place.

As soon as his car reached along Kashmir Road, four people riding two motorbikes ambushed the car with indiscriminate firing, killing Iftikhar, his driver Boota, and three guards - Abu Sufian, Rajab, and Qasib. The assailants fled the scene, reported Dawn News.

A spokesman for Gujranwala police stated that a case had been registered against the suspects belonging to the Mehar group, a rival party of the deceased Rana Iftikhar, the newspaper reported.

The deceased Iftikhar used to contest the union council chairman elections, and he had announced contesting the next elections from PP 59.
