Taiwan hospital fire kills at least 9

Taipei, Aug 13 (IBNS): At least nine people have died as a fire broke out in a hospital in Taiwan, local media reports said.

Apart from the deceased, 16 people, including patients and staff members, are said to be critical.

The incident took place in a hospital in Taiwan's New Taipei City on Monday.

Thirty six people, including three staff members, have been evacuated from the affected facility after fire broke out at about 4:30 am.

The cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained.

However, local media reports hinted at an electrical fault as the cause of the outbreak.
