Tariffs will go up immediately if Xi does not meet me at G20: Trump

| @indiablooms | Jun 10, 2019, at 08:03 pm

Washington, Jun 10 (Sputnik): US President Donald Trump said on Monday that if Chinese leader Xi Jinping does not meet him at the G20 later this month, tariffs on $300 billion worth of goods will go into effect immediately.

"We are expected to meet. If we do, that is fine ... If we do not make a deal, then we will be raising the tariffs," Trump told CNBC when asked to comment on reports that China would not confirm that a meeting has been scheduled for the G20.

Trump added that the meeting has been "scheduled" and he would be "surprised" if Xi does not attend.
