Two killed, 8 injured in east China factory blast

Nanjing/Xinhua/UNI:  Two people are dead and eight injured after a blast in a factory in the city of Danyang, eastern China's Jiangsu Province, local authorities said Saturday.

The blast happened at around 11 a.m. Friday in a factory that manufactured glue for shoes in Lingkou Township of Danyang, according to the city's emergency management bureau.

The fire was put out at 1:40 p.m. Friday and the injured were taken to a hospital for observation and treatment. Among the eight people, one person with serious injuries is in stable condition.

Further investigation of the accident is underway.
