US: Rejected, jilted lover fatally shoots four at Pennsylvania car wash

Harrisburg, Jan 30 (IBNS): At least four people died after a jilted lover took matters into his own hands and opened fire at a car wash in US' Pennsylvania state.

The incident took place on Sunday at Ed's Car Wash on Indian Creek Valley Road in Melcroft, Saltlick Township, according to local authorities.

The victims have been identified as  Chelsie Cline, 25, Seth William Cline, 21, Courtney Sue Snyder, 23, and William Scott Porterfield, 27.

The shooter,  Timothy O'Brien Smith, recently endured a broken relationship as Chelsie called it a day.

Reports stated that after shooting at the victims, the shooter aimed the gun at him and pulled the trigger, however, he is presently on life support.

According to local newspaper  Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, four days prior to her death, she posted on her social media profile, "After this week, I (really) need to get taken out… on a date or by a sniper either one is fine (with) me at this point."

The post received just the one reply, which was from Smith, who told her he could do both.

Authorities have initiated an investigation.

Meanwhile, on Monday, shocked neighbours mourned the deaths.

More than 150 people attended a night vigil which took place at  the Christian Life Assembly in Melcroft.

"Such a tragedy can cause us to isolate ourselves from the community," the daily quoted Rev. Doug Nolt, pastor of Indian Head Church of God as saying. " But such a tragedy can also bring us together. We will not let this tragedy overcome us."
