Assam Rifles conducts medical camp in Aizawl

Aizawl: Aizawl Battalion, under the aegis of HQ 23 Sector Assam Rifles and HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted a medical camp at Vaitin village in Aizawl district in Mizoram on Monday.

A medical camp with an aim of providing medical assistance to the villagers and also make them aware of major ailments and precautionary measures was conducted under the supervision of 2IC Jacob L Pulamte, Chief Medical Officer, 46 Assam Rifles.

During the camp, the patients were provided with free medicines, medical consultation and health awareness education by the team of 46 Assam Rifles.

The local populace actively participated in the said event and capitalised on the opportunity provided by 46 Assam Rifles. Total of 42 men, 74 women and 39 children were given necessary medical advice and medicines for common medical ailments while keeping the tenets of COVID-19 Prevention and Containment Act 2020 in mind.

In addition to the medical consultation the villagers were also educated on common diseases and its causes and a sincere endeavour was made to make them aware of importance of Timely Vaccination, routine medical check-ups and Personal Hygiene & Sanitation.

The general public was adequately educated on hazards of Drug Abuse & Alcohol and Prevention from HIV/AIDS through a lecture cum workshop on the said topics.

Villagers appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles and conveyed their heartfelt thanks to 46 Assam Rifles for addressing their urgent medical needs by providing them with timely medical aid. They also urged Assam Rifles to continue organizing such medical camps regularly.
