Nepal records 1,221 nCoV cases in single day

Kathmandu/UNI; Nepal's Ministry of Health and Population on Sunday reported 1,221 new cases of coronavirus infection taking the nationwide COVID count to 38,561.

Among the new cases, 348 are women and 873 are males. The new infections came to light after authorities tested 12,717 samples through PCR method in the last 24 hours, The Himalayan Times reported.

Nepal has tested a total of 682,343 PCR tests across the country so far.

Among the new cases, 429 have been reported from within Kathmandu Valley.

At the same time a total of 20,822 people have been discharged from various health facilities across the country so far after they made a complete recovery from the virus. In the past 24 hours alone 267 recoveries were recorded.

The authorities said that currently 17,518 active coronavirus cases are there in the country while 7,797 people are under quarantine. Of the total active cases, 10,612 people are under institutional isolation while 6906 are under home isolation.
