Pakistan: COVID-19 death toll crosses 2000-mark

Islamabad/IBNS: Pakistan has recorded over 2000 deaths due to COVID-19, media reports said on Sunday.

As per latest reports, the country's COVID-19 death toll now stands at 2032.

The number of infected cases in the country is currently 101173.

A total of 4,960 new cases and 67 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

Recovery rate stands is 33.8 percent of the total confirmed cases.

The country's eastern Punjab province is the most affected region with 37,090 cases followed by southern Sindh province with 36,364 cases.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan urged on Saturday the people to follow the standard operating procedures formed by the government against COVID-19.
