Telangana: Surge in COVID-19 positive cases continues

Hyderabad/UNI: The surge in COVID-19 positive cases in Telangana continues crossing the 50,000-mark and recording a cumulative 54,059 positive cases till 2000 hours on Saturday.

According to a health bulletin issued by the state health department, eight persons had died due to the contagious coronavirus on Saturday taking the total number COVID-19 deaths in the state to 463 so far.

The highest number of positive cases were recorded on Saturday in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits (641), Rangareddy district (171) and Warangal (131).

In all,41,332 patients had been discharged after recovery from various COVID-19 hospitals, while 12,364 patients were undergoing treatment.

The mortality rate (number of people who died due to COVID-19 for every 100 virus-positive cases) is 0.86 in the state as against the countrywide mortality rate of 2.3 per cent.
