| @indiablooms | May 31, 2021, at 10:27 pm

Hanoi: Vietnam is aiming to tackle a fresh COVID-19 outbreak by conducting mass testing in Ho Chi Minh City, media reports said.

The country is also introducing new social distance norms to bring the virus under control.

Vietnam has had relative success in controlling the virus but cases have been rising over the past weeks, reports BBC.

Vietnam's officials have warned recently that a new hybrid variant of the COVID-19 has been discovered in the country.

The Ministry of Health confirmed 68 community infection cases of COVID-19 on Monday noon, raising the national patient tally to 7,236, reports VGP News.

Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAC) has announced temporary suspension of international flights to Noi Bai International Airport in Ha Noi from June 1 to June 7.
