Amazon launches new Alexa Tablets with Google Play store! Check features, prices and more
Amazon has launched an all-new lineup of tablets that combines upgraded hardware, its Alexa+ AI assistant and built-in access to the Google Play Store, bringing millions of Android apps to users alongside Amazon's digital services.
The new lineup comprises three models: the Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Amazon Alexa Tablet 11 and Amazon Alexa Tablet 8.
According to the company, the tablets feature premium aluminium unibody construction, high-resolution displays and powerful processors. Running Android, they offer access to the Google Play Store, including apps such as YouTube, Netflix, Gmail and Google Docs, alongside Amazon services such as Prime Video, Kindle, Audible, Amazon Music, Amazon Quick and Amazon Luna.
Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro: Features and specifications
The flagship Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro features an aluminium unibody design measuring just 6.5mm in thickness. It is designed to balance portability with performance for reading, entertainment and productivity.
The tablet sports a 12-inch display with a pixel density of 280 PPI, a 120Hz refresh rate and a 3:2 aspect ratio, offering additional screen space for multitasking and work. Customers can choose between a standard display and a Nanomatte version featuring anti-glare technology.
Powered by a 4nm octa-core processor and equipped with up to 16GB of RAM, the device delivers nearly three times faster processing and nine times faster graphics performance than any tablet Amazon has previously shipped, according to the company.
The tablet is designed to handle multi-window multitasking, graphics-intensive gaming and 4K video streaming. Other features include quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and up to 16 hours of video playback, which Amazon describes as its longest battery life on a tablet.
The Nanomatte variant also offers enhanced processing capabilities, with up to 16GB of RAM.
New keyboard and stylus accessories
Amazon has introduced two accessories designed exclusively for the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro: the Amazon Alexa Tablet Pro Pen and the Amazon Alexa Tablet Pro Keyboard.
The Pro Pen uses USI 2.0 active pen technology and supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt detection, magnetic docking and wireless charging.
The Pro Keyboard attaches magnetically to the tablet without requiring Bluetooth pairing, transforming the device into a workstation for productivity tasks.
