Kolkata, July 16 (IBNS): Miss & Mrs India Glam Hunt 2018, a national beauty pageant that aims to provide an equal opportunity platform to married women, was recently flagged off by Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, in Kolkata.

The former I Am She Miss Universe India winner said, “I think it’s a wonderful opportunity for women. This is a right step forward considering the fact that married women are never given any opportunities. This is an amazing place for all married and unmarried girls to showcase their talent.”

Rautela, Amit Modi - head of Jupiter Films and Rohit Goenka - head of Vedam Entertainment unveiled the registration form for the 2018 Hunt.

The pageant is being presented by Jupiter Films along with Vedam Entertainment and Chandra Shakti Films.

Introducing Rautela as the face of the pageant, Modi said, “I personally feel there isn’t any one more suitable than her to be the face of the pageant."

Participants for the glam hunt will have to register online.

Auditions will be held in more than 15 cities across India.

The 40 shortlisted contestants will undergo a 10-day grooming session.

The Grand Finale will be held on the 11th night.

The winners of the contest will be given cash prize, crown and a certificate.

About the concept of the show, Amit Modi said, “The concept is a bit different from other beauty pageants, ‘Miss’ part of the title is clear to everyone as there are plenty of pageants which gives unmarried girls a platform but what we did was we also included the ‘Mrs’, as we speak of women empowerment, in our society the choices of women gets limited after marriage, we have created this platform so that married women who wants to pursue a career in modeling can get a platform through this pageant.”

Urvashi Rautela said that she will also convince her sister to enroll in this pageant as it is open to married women.
