Fork & Knife: For a festive meal that can be healthy too

Kolkata, Oct 18 (IBNS): Avoiding fast food, eating healthy and regular exercise are key to maintaining a svelte figure advised Femina Miss India West Bengal 2017, Shivankita Dixit, while she unveiled special Diwali and Bhaidooj menu at the Fork & Knife in Kolkata, recently.

Guests were in for a surprise when they came to know that an established model and beauty pageant contestant was to unveil a festive season menu, something which is considered to be anathema to their ilk.

But when the dishes arrived, it was evident why.

Spinach, mushrooms and other healthy veggies were used with paneer and minute quantities of cheese and cream to fashion Pan Veil, Spinach croquettes, baked mushrooms and Mexican Munch, the last accompanied with sauce made from orange reduction.

Dixit, who tasted the fare on offer in bits and bites, said, “The food here is just amazing. I for a day forgot my diet and just indulged myself. For the vegetarian people it for sure is a treat,” she said.

The buffet spread included samples from their Indian, Continental and Oriental cuisine. The Continental and Oriental cuisine was slightly moderated to suit local tastes, which is probably one of the main reasons why Fork & Knife is fast becoming popular among the vegetarian gourmets of the city.

“We have always tried to establish that vegetarian food can be equally tasty – at Fork & Knife we believe in constant innovation and retention of quality,” said Amit Bajoria, spokesperson for the brand.

So, if you are looking for some healthy choice of meals with an occasional indulgence, may be it is time to try out the menu at Fork & Knife this festive season.

Fork & Knife is a multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant located within Treebo Orion West Willows hotel in Beckbagan area, Kolkata.
