Fresh talent takes center stage at LFW Summer/Resort '15

Mumbai, Feb 12 (IBNS): In its 15th year, Lakme Fashion Week once again opened doors to aspiring models who showcased their best at the model auditions held at the Palladium Hotel in Mumbai.
An eclectic panel of judges chose 11 winners after three rigorous and competitive rounds of auditions for the upcoming Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2015. A whooping 130 aspiring Indian and international models turned up at the most coveted model hunt of the nation.
 
The LFW Model Auditions is by far, India’s most popular and revered launch pad for budding models, having introduced some of the most successful names in the industry like Katrina Kaif, Yana Gupta, Mugdha Godse and Miss India World Kanishta Dhankar, among others. The initiative is an integral part of LFW’s commitment to continuously provide a foundation for new and emerging runway talent.
 
Saket Dhankar, Head – Fashion, IMG Reliance, said: “Lakmé Fashion Week is known to bring forth some of the finest faces of fashion and runway divas. Model auditions is an integral part of the process each season to discover and infuse new talent into Lakmé Fashion Week. We acknowledge the vital role that models play in the success of a fashion week, this season too we are elated to have yet again introduced 11 promising faces to the fashion fraternity.”
 
Here’s what Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovation, Lakmé had to say: “Over the last 15 years Lakmé has discovered some of the most sought after faces in the industry. A curator of runway fashion, Lakmé Fashion Week continues to be the perfect platform to discover some of the most beautiful faces from around the country and the model auditions are yet another way in which LFW reinvents the future of fashion.”
 
The jury panel comprised a mix of, fashion experts and stalwarts of the Indian fashion industry, including top model Sarah Jane Dais; ace photographer Rohan Shrestha; fashion choreographers Lubna Adams and Rashmi Virmani; along with Saket Dhankar, Head Fashion, IMG Reliance and Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovation, Lakmé.
