Kolkata: Technology brand Realme on Friday launched its addition to the C-series-named Realme C55, starting from Rs. 9,999.

The company said the phone promises to be a new benchmark for an entry-level champion with a 64MP camera and 33W charging.

"With its sleek design, impressive performance, and outstanding features, the realme C55 is the perfect choice for those who demand more from their smartphones," Sreehari, Product Manager at realme Global (India and Europe), said.

"In West Bengal Realme's mainline market share is 11%, with the highest contribution coming from the East region. Realme intends to add 22 more service centers in West Bengal to its existing 27 by the end of 2023," he said.

He said: "Realme currently has 527 service centers in India that cater to mobiles and AIOT products. However, the company aims to expand its service network and increase the number of service centers to 727 by the end of 2023."

When asked about the company's 6G plans, Sreehari, Product Manager at Realme Global (India and Europe), told IBNS: "6G development is something we are going to work out. One big thing in India is that a large section of the population is still using 2G and 3G. We are also aiming to bring these customers to the 4G platform first."

Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced India's 6G mission, which aims to concentrate efforts towards developing next-generation technology in India.

As part of this initiative, a 6G testbed project has been introduced to enable research on novel network technologies.

The Bharat 6G project has been initiated by the government and an apex council has been designated to oversee its progress. India is the second largest telecommunications market worldwide with 1.2 billion digital subscribers.

Features of C55:

Realme C55 sports a 90Hz FHD+ display, the largest display in the price segment for a smooth experience and is also the slimmest smartphone in the segment with a thickness of just 7.89mm.

It also boasts an  impressive performance, owing to its MediaTek Helio G88 chipset and 12nm process technology, earning it a remarkable Antutu benchmark score of 273,364.

In a bid to enhance user convenience, the Realme C55 introduced the first Mini Capsule in Android, bringing the best flagship-level experience to the entry-level segment. The mini capsule incorporates three critical features, including Charge Notification, Data Usage Notification, and Step Notification, all of which are designed to make life easier for users by providing them with useful information at a glance.

The phone comes with a 8GB of RAM, effectively increasing the device's storage capacity.

With up to 16GB of RAM, the smartphone can smoothly run up to 20 apps in the background, bringing next-level multitasking.

Moreover, the smartphone is breaking new ground by being the first phone in the C series to feature Realme UI 4.0.

Realme C55 is available in two stunning colors - Sunshower and Rainy Night and comes in three storage variants.

When and where can it be purchased?

The first sale is scheduled for March 28, 12 P.M. onwards on realme.com, Flipkart & mainline channels.

Exclusive offers for students are also available and they can get a chance to win realme Buds Q2 by purchasing the stunning realme C55  at realme exclusive stores from 28th March to 31st March 2023.
