Kolkata, Jan 21 (IBNS): As a curtain raiser to the inaugural Children's Literary Meet (CLM), Kolkata's popular book and lifestyle store, STORY, presented Gillo Theatre's Catch That Crocodile, based on the book by Anushka Ravishankar, at their Elgin Road (south Kolkata) store on Friday and Saturday.

Since inception, STORY has encouraged readership among children and provided a platform for budding writers in them. Eastern India’s leading bookstore and leisure destination, an initiative of the Primarc Group, is the bookstore partner of the Children’s Literary Meet (CLM) to promote literary activities in the city.

The inaugural Children's Literary Meet will be held on January 22 and 23 at the STORY Bookstore and the Victoria Memorial grounds.

On Jan 22, as part of CLM, STORY will host the Verse-A-Tile programme for children aged 6 to 10 years. Dubbed 'Lines and Rhymes and all things fine', will encourage the young participants to play with words. Children will get an opportunity to listen to poems, write one and shout it out too!

Isha Daga will hold a poetry workshop where participants will draw inspiration from cue tiles. Same day, Dana Roy will regale the young brigade with stories from Dr Seuss, in an hour-long musical programme called Songs & Seuss.

Children and young adults aged six to eighteen will be able to participate in the diverse programmes, which will include interactive sessions with popular authors, workshops on writing and illustration, dramatised story-telling, latest book readings and performances at STORY.

CLM is organised and curated by the Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet and ThinkArts. STORY is also the bookstore partner for the sixth edition of Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet to be held from Jan 25-29, 2017.

STORY has an entire floor dedicated to children with well-stocked shelves overflowing with books -from classics to modern authors, from children’s books to teenage fiction, from detective stories to science-fiction to encyclopaedias.
