New Delhi/IBNS: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to temporarily call off the Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) scheduled on July 5 next.

An official CBSE release signed by Director (CTET) & Secretary Anurag Tripathi said , " As notified earlier, the 14th edition of  Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET)-July scheduled to be held on 05/07/2020 is postponed."

CBSE said the next date of examination will be intimated when the situation is more conducive to hold the examinations.

All the candidates registered for CTET July 2020 have been asked to regularly check www.ctet.nic.in for updates in connection with the exam.

Earlier today, CBSE told the Supreme Court that it has decided to cancel the board exams for remaining papers scheduled from July 1.

The Solicitor General told the top court it was unable to hold the pending CBSE board exams after Delhi, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu conveyed their inability to conduct them.

The CBSE board exams for classes 10 and 12 were scheduled between July 1 and July 15.

The board will conduct exams when the situation is conducive, it said.

According to media reports, the CBSE told the court that the option to appear for exams later will be given to class 12 students only.
