Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with US-based tech giant Nvidia Corporation to accelerate the development of the state’s artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Saturday.

The partnership will see Nvidia assist in curriculum design and skilling initiatives over the next two years, as the state aims to position itself as a national hub for AI innovation and talent.

“Andhra Pradesh is welcoming bold initiatives to lead India’s AI revolution,” CM Naidu posted on X, adding that the agreement was signed under the leadership of state IT Minister Nara Lokesh.

As part of the collaboration:

10,000 engineering students in the state will be trained in AI technologies.
500 AI startups from Andhra Pradesh will be onboarded to Nvidia’s Inception Program, granting them access to global exposure, mentoring and critical AI resources.

Naidu further said the state plans to establish India’s first AI University in collaboration with Nvidia to enhance AI research and infrastructure. “From education and skilling to research and innovation, this initiative is laying the foundation for a Swarna Andhra Pradesh,” he added.

The state is also pushing ahead with its vision for India’s first Quantum Computing Village. The 50-acre facility in Amaravati, previously announced by the government, will provide a shared platform for research, high-performance computing and quantum innovation.

Tech majors IBM and TCS are expected to finalise infrastructure specifications for the facility. The site will host the IBM Quantum System Two in its initial phase and feature a dedicated on-site data centre to support advanced computational needs.
