BSF personnel seize more than six kgs of heroin, nab one smuggler

Jalandhar/UNI: Border Security Force (BSF) seized ten packets of contraband suspected to be heroin in the area of responsibility of 181bn of the BSF in Abohar Sector on early Sunday morning.

A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier Headquarter of the BSF here said today that vigilant troops of the BSF observed suspicious activities of some miscreants ahead of the border security fence and challenged them, but they did not pay heed to the warning of the troops and continued their misadventure provoking the troop to open fire following which they fled towards the Pakistan Territory.

During a search of the area conducted by the troops, five packets of heroin were recovered from within the Indian side while another five packets were seized from near the border security fence along the International Border.

The packets weighed more than six kgs (6.060kg), he said.


He said that the BSF troops also apprehended an Indian smuggler behind the border security fence along with a motorcycle.
