CEC will be in Himachal Pradesh from Sep 22 to 24

Hamirpur/UNI: Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Anoop Chandra Pandey will visit Himachal from Sept 22 to 24 with a team of officers to take stock of the Vidhan Sabha election preparations in the state.

The Police Band, the brand ambassador of the state election department will perform in Shimla on Sept 22 on the arrival of the Election Commission team.

The Himachal Police band, popularly known as Harmony of Pines, had made a lot of noise in the reality show Hunarbaaz.

State Chief Electoral Officer Manish Garg said the Chief Election Commissioner will hold a meeting of the state poll officers to review the preparations.

A meeting with leaders and representatives of various political parties will also be held and feedback will be taken regarding the conduct of assembly elections in a fair and peaceful manner.

The Election Commission may announce the dates for the state Assembly polls in the last week of September and impose a model code of conduct.
