Congress cannot develop Devbhoomi, it is a party of appeasement: Shah

New Delhi/UNI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said the Modi government has fulfilled the long pending demand of 'One Rank One Pension and alleged that the Congress government had delayed this decision.

"Modi government has given about 20 lakh crore rupees to the army personnel by implementing One Rank One Pension and the ex-servicemen of Uttarakhand have benefited the most from this decision" Amit Shah, said while addressing a political rally in Dhanaulti in Uttarkhand.

"Why the decision of One Rank One Pension could not be taken during the Congress government," Shah asked.

Talking about the development work being undertaken by the BJP government, he said "after the Kedarnath disaster, no work was done by the Congress government but the BJP government, reconstructed the temple with a cost of 400 crores, and the reconstruction work of Badrinath is being done with an expenditure of Rs 450 crore.

"The work of Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line project is being done in the state at a cost of 16 thousand crores and the construction work of Tanakpur-Bageshwar rail line project will also start soon," he said.

While appealing to the people of the state to vote for BJP and give their mandate to Pushkar Singh Dhami to become their CM, he also launched an attack on Congress.

Home Minister said, Congress has not done any development work in the state because they have neither the will nor the power.

"When there were Congress governments in Uttarakhand, the politics of money order was going on. Congress cannot develop Devbhoomi, it is a party of appeasement."

He said that during these five years BJP has laid the foundation of development and if it gets the mandate for another five years, it will work to make Uttarakhand self-reliant.

In another rally in Sahaspur, Uttarkhand Amit Shah said that during the lockdown the Modi government was providing 5 kgs of food grains per person every month to 80 crore poor people for almost 2 years.

Slamming the Congress party further, the Home Minister said that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra belongs to the fourth generation of her family and if each generation had done one developmental work for each Dham, the BJP would not have been left with anything more to do.

He said that if the BJP government is formed in the state then there will be a ropeway developed between Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib.

Home Minister also said that an elevated road will be constructed between Delhi and Dehradun that will reduce the travel time to 2.5 hours, significantly reducing the commuting time between the two cities.

Uttarakhand will go to the Assembly poll in a single phase on February 14.
