Congress members do not have national interest in mind : Lok Sabha Speaker

| | Dec 22, 2015, at 08:47 pm
New Delhi, Dec 22 (IBNS) Lok Sabha Speaker Sumira Mahajan on Tuesday reprimanded Congress members in strong words, saying they do not have any national interest but only vested interest.

The Speaker's rebuke came as Congress members were carrying out noisy protests demanding Finance Minister Arun Jatiley's resignation over alleged irregularities  in DDCA.

The Congress MPs trooped into  the Well raising slogans soon after the House assembled and Mahajan rejected nearly 10 notices seeking adjournment of the Question Hour.

"They don't have any national interest, they only have vested interest)," Mahajan said.

Her remarks came in response to a plea by BJD's Baijayant Panda who said the Congress members should stop protesting in the national interest as he was raising an important question about security.

The Speaker also told the Lok Sabha Secretariat officials that she wanted all the names of members who were in the Well.
