Congress MLA links with most wanted auto theft kingpin across India
Guwahati, Apr 3 (IBNS): Assam Police on Friday accessed a shocking report of link between a Congress MLA of the state with a most wanted auto theft across India who was arrested on Thursday night near Guwahati.
Police had arrested a most wanted auto theft of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Meghalaya police Anil Chauhan and his associate Munin Choudhury from Azara area outskirts of Guwahati.
Guwahati City police Commissioner Mukesh Agarwal said that, Anil Chauhan was the most wanted auto theft kingpin across the country.
"Anil was the main leader of inter state car lifter gang. He was earlier arrested in Delhi. Last night police recovered a 9mm pistol, a revolver, five rounds ammunition, six mobile phone handsets and an Eon car in possession from them," the city police Commissioner said.
In other hand, city police had accessed a report of link between a Congress MLA and Anil Chauhan when police seized several car passes of Assam state assembly in the name of the Congress MLA, few photographs, fake driving license, registration cards from the house of nabbed most wanted auto theft kingpin.
On other hand, Anil had revealed during police interrogation that he was involved in a medicine laden truck theft case in Guwahati recently.
