Congress mock BJP, says PM Modi failed nation
New Delhi, Feb 18 (IBNS) The Indian National Congress on Thursday took a shot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his BJP government, stating that they have failed the nation.
In a blog, the Congress blamed BJP and Modi for the 'lawlessness' that is plaguing India.
Referring to the Patiala house court incident, the blog read, "The lawlessness people witnessed in Patiala House Court this week is an affront on the Democratic ideals of India. In the name of Nationalism, one of the pillars of our nation, a Judicial team deputed by the Supreme Court was attacked by a BJP legislator and BJP workers, even as Delhi Police, in defiance of the Supreme Court order, witnessed the brutal assault on journalists, students and teachers as mute spectators."
Launching a verbal attack on the RSS and BJP, the Congress said that the present agitation is a 'sinister campaign plan' by the incumbent government and its political and ideological mentor.
"This attack on the press and universities is part of a sinister campaign by the BJP, and their political masters, the RSS, to control all flow of information in this nation. The attack on journalists, the fourth pillar of our democracy, was to prevent them from doing their job."
"For the last 21 months, there has been a sustained attack on civil liberties in India. The targets have been the youth, Dalits, minorities and women. Anybody who disagrees with the agenda of BJP is targeted, attacked and called anti-National," the blog read.
Pointing out other issues, the current opposition party said that it is a part of BJP's plan to divert the nation from criticizing them.
"They are using this as an excuse to launch a campaign across the nation, and are trying to quell all voices of criticism. The BJP doesn’t want us to talk about Mid-Day meals stopping, the value of Rupee nose diving, manufacturing falling, exports falling or the bail out of big banks & companies, while small farmers committing suicide because they are unable to pay off their debt."
The party also accused Narendra Modi of implementing the 'Gujarat Model' on a national level and trying to control India. Mocking Modi's slogan of 'Minimum Government, Maximum Governance', they said the PM is following 'Minimum Governance, Maximum Gundagardi'.
"What we are witnessing today is the truth of the “Gujarat Model” where the Modi Raj destroys all voices of dissent till there is none left to criticise his policies. Rather than “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance,” PM Modi has given the nation “Minimum Governance, Maximum Gundagardi.”
