Congress postpones silent dharna in Parliament

| | Jul 22, 2015, at 05:50 pm
New Delhi, Jul 22 (IBNS) The Congress has postponed the party's 'silent dharna' in Parliament though it decided earlier to go great gun to corner the BJP-led NDA government on the on the Lalit Modi and Vyapam scam issues.

The party's decision came at a time when External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj threatened to reveal the name of a Congress leader who had "lobbied" for diplomatic passport for one, accused in the coal scam.

Media reports said the Congress will be waiting closely to what External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj says after which it  will decide on dharna.
There are other speculations that include lack of consensus among all the opposition parties on strategy to counter the Narendra Modi government.

Earlier in the day, Sushma Swaraj, who has been under the opposition attack for her alleged links with former IPL chief Lalit Modi, threatened to o disclose the name of a senior Congress leader who pressured her to give a diplomatic passport to coal scam accused Santosh Bagrodia.

Apart from Sushma, the Congress has also been pressing for resignation of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over alleged links with Lalit Modi and that of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the Vyapam scam.
