New Delhi, Jul 4 (IBNS) Underworld don and one of India's most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim and his deputy Chhota Shakeel reportedly wanted to return to the country, but their proposal was allegedly rejected.
According to media reports quoting Chhota Shakil the duo had offered to return after the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, but claimed that the Indian government turned down their proposal.

Chhota Shakeel said that now they are reluctant to return.

According to the report, Chhota Shakeel claimed that Dawood had spoken to senior advocate Ram Jethmalani at the time. He also accused Bharatiya Janata Party patriarch LK Advani of blocking the move.

Meanwhile, the BJP criticised  the Congress for not taking any action during their regime. "Ram Jethmalani clearly said that he gave information in writing, despite that Congress didn't take any initiative. Congress and NCP should say why action was not taken at that time,"  BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said.

The CBI had alleged that Dawood Ibrahim conspired with ISI to carry out serial blasts in Mumbai in March 1993 in which 257 people were killed.
