Delhi: Former Congress MLA Mohammad Khan arrested for thrashing MCD staff

New Delhi/UNI: Former Congress MLA Asif Mohammad Khan was arrested from Shaheen Bagh area for allegedly abusing and assaulting on-duty South Delhi Municipal Corporation staff and obstructing government work, police said on Saturday.

The police said in a video clip which shows Khan hurling abuses and thrashing MCD staff went viral on social media.

The police have registered a case under 186/353/332/34 IPC at Shaheen Bagh police station.

The police said it received a complaint from Ram Kishor, MCD Inspector of Lajpat Nagar Zone, about the incident.

Kishore stated that Khan abused and assaulted him when he was on duty and obstructed government work.

The police have arrested Asif Mohammad Khan today after a complaint regarding allegedly abusing and assaulting MCD staff. He was produced before court from where he has been sent to Judicial Custody,” said a senior Delhi Police official.
