New Delhi, Jul 20 (IBNS) Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet police commissioner BS Bassi on Monday over the murder of a young girl who was stabbed protesting sexual assault.

Bassi is expected to give Kejriwal a progress report on the case that prompted the CM to demand that the  control of the Delhi police be handed over to his government.

"I will definitely go and meet him and will exchange our thoughts...There is a possibility of him telling something useful to us and may be I will give him something which will make him informative towards policing..." media reports quoted Bassi as saying.

Bassi has said that there is no need for implementing AAP's demand for bringing Delhi Police under the city government. Currently Delhi Police functions directly under administrative control of the Home Ministry.

Kejriwal has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into his demand seriously, alleging that law and order situation in the capital was "on a decline".

"I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi with folded hands that the . He has to run the complete country. I am not saying Delhi Police officials are wrong. They are very good people and are working but the system is bad. Even Police officials themselves are frustrated with this and no improvement is happening," he claimed.

Nineteen-year-old Minakshi was brutally stabbed to death allegedly by two brothers living in her neighbourhood in central Delhi's Anand Parbat area for protesting their verbally abusing her on July 16.
