Don't let the people of Delhi to suffer: Kejriwal tells Modi

New Delhi, June 15 (IBNS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday slammed the Centre and the Congress over the issue of appointment of Parliamentary Secretary and said the Narendra Modi-led government should not stop the good work performed by his government in the national capital.

"If you create Parliamentary Secretary then it is fine but if we do it then it is wrong," he said while addressing a press conference here.

Speaking on the former Congress-led Delhi government, Kejriwal said: "Sheila Dixit appointed Ajay Maken as Parliament Secretary."

He said former Union Minister Ajay Maken is creating 'ruckus' over AAP’s 21 MLAs.

Attacking the Modi government, he said: "I am urging Modi ji with folded hands that your fight is against me and you do whatever you want to do with me. But, please do not let the people of Delhi to suffer."

Bringing setback to Arvind Kejriwal government, President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday refused its bill amending the law on "Office of Profit."

The move has raised questions on the fate of  21 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators who had been appointed asParliamentary secretaries last year.

According to the Constitution, holding 'Office of Profit' by an elected member is a violation.

The President's letter has been sent to the Law Department of Delhi government.
