Eleven get lifer in Kerala's Paul Muthoot murder case

Kochi, Sept 1 (IBNS) A special court in Kerala has sentenced to life 11 convicts in the 2009 Paul Muthoot murder case, reports said.

The court has  pronounced rigorous imprisonment for 4 other convicts.

Earlier in the day, the  court had convicted 13 accused in the murder case of Muthoot Group Chairman Muthoot M George's son Paul Muthoot.

There are a total of 18 accused in the case of which 17 are found guilty.

Paul George, one of the executive directors of Muthoot Group was killed under mysterious circumstances on August 21, 2009 when he was on his way to his native place Pathanamthitta. He was killed at Ponga near Nedumudy.

According to the police, Paul aged 32 at the time of his death, was on his way to a resort owned by the group at Champakulam, when a group of persons on a Tempo Traveller intercepted his vehicle around 1.30 am and attacked him.
