Fire breaks out at Kumbh Mela site

Prayagraj, Jan 14 (IBNS): A fire broke out at the Kumbh Mela ground on Monday, a day before the fare is scheduled to start.

According to reports, the fire started in a Digambar Akhara tent and started spreading fast. Fire personnel eventually brought it under control.

No one was injured, said reports. One car was gutted.

"The fire has been contained and the area is being cleared now," NDTV quoted a senior police officer as saying.

Over 12 crore pilgrims are expected to congregate at the Kumbh Mela.
