Hardcore NDFB(S) militant apprehended in Kokrajhar

Guwahati, July 21 (IBNS): Security forces on Tuesday have apprehended a hardcore militant belonging to NDFB(S) from Ripu reserve forest area under Kokrajhar district of Assam, police said.

BTAD IGP Dr LR Bisnoi said that based on a secret input about the presence of 3-4 cadres of the outfit group at ride no 3 inside Ripu reserve forest under Kachugaon police station in the BTAD district, the police and the 129 CRPF had jointly launched an operation at the area and nabbed a militant.

The nabbed militant was identified as Nipul Brahma and security forces recovered one 7.65mm pistol with two magazines, four rounds live pistol ammunition, 536 rounds AK-rifles ammunition, five AK rifle magazines, three HE36 hand grenades in possession from him.

"The nabbed militant is a close associate of G Bidai and was involved in carnage of adivasis in Pakriguri village in Kokrajhar district on December 23 last year. He is 41 batch Bhutan trained cadre, " Dr Bisnoi said.
