I am relaxed: Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy says on MLAs withdrawal
Bengaluru, Jan 15 (IBNS): As two Independent MLAs have withdrawn their support to the Karnataka government, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy hinted that his government is stable and said he was 'relaxed' and knew his strength completely.
"I'm totally relaxed. I know my strength. Whatever is going on in media in the past week, I am enjoying," he told media.
Two MLAs withdraw support:
In a jolt to the Congress-JD(S) coalition in Karnataka, two Independent MLAs have withdrawn their support to the state government led by HD Kumaraswamy, media reports said on Tuesday.
The Independent MLAs are - H Nagesh and R Shankar. They reportedly alleged that they were disappointed with the coalition Government.
However, the withdrawal of support by the two does not pose any immediate threat to the Government with 118 MLAs, more than the required halfway mark of 113 to be in power.
Both the MLAs were reportedly missing.
Amid allegations and counter-allegations of poaching by both sides, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday flew its 100-odd lawmakers to the Delhi and then parked them at a resort in Gurgaon, alleging that Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy was trying to influence them.
"The Janata Dal Secular (JDS) wants to break BJP lawmakers. We are united. We will stay in Delhi for one or two days," NDTV had quoted BJP leader and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa as saying.
