New Delhi/UNI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will make a statement in both Houses of Parliament on Tuesday over the face-off between Indian and Chinese troops in Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh, the government said.

The minister is scheduled to speak at 12 noon in the Lok Sabha and at 12:30 pm in the Rajya Sabha.

Earlier, Rajnath Singh was briefed about the incident in a high level meeting at his residence by Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande.

NSA Ajit Doval, CDS Gen Anil Chauhan, IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chowdhury, Navy Chief Admiral R. Hari Kumar, Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra and other officials of the Defence Ministry were also present during the meeting.
Sources said that the minister was briefed on the recent incident at Yangtse in Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh where the Indian Army soldiers contested the PLA troops in a firm and resolute manner on Friday.

Singh was also briefed on the overall security situation along the Line of Actual Control.

Both Houses of the Parliament witnessed adjournment as many Opposition MPs gave notices under various rules in Parliament demanding the government to clarify the situation.

The Indian Army had earlier said that the face-off led to minor injuries to few personnel from both sides, however, both sides immediately disengaged from the area.
