India considers Iran a close friend: President Mukherjee

New Delhi, Feb 11 (IBNS) Greeting Iran on its 37th Islamic Revolution, President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday said that India considers Iran a close friend.

President Mukherjee took to Twitter to convey his greetings.

He wrote: "Warm greetings & best wishes to Government & people of Iran on the 37th Anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran."

"India considers Iran a close friend & looks forward to enhancing its relationship into a more collaborative partnership," the President said.

Hailing India-Iran relationship as beneficial for entire region, he wrote: "India believes fruitful engagement bt. India & Iran will be beneficial for stability & prosperity of the entire region."
