India to buy 36 Rafale Jets: Modi

Paris, Apr 10 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said he has spoken to French President Francois Hollande on buying 36 Rafale jets in fly-away condition from the country.

"I have requested 36 Rafale jets in fly-away condition as quickly as possible," Modi said while addressing a Joint Statement with Hollande.

He said: "Glad that France will work with us on urban heritage and tourism sectors."

He said: "Our strategic partnership has reached a new level that will benefit both our nations."

Modi is currently on a three-nation tour. He arrived in France as his first destination in the tour.
