Srinagar, Dec 16 (IBNS): The Indian Army ordered an independent inquiry into the disappearance of three persons in November from Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Wednesday.
Three civilians Ghulam Jeelani Khatana, Mir Hussain Khatana  residents of Gojar Patti (Satbonya) in Dardepora—and Ali Muhammad Sheikh went missing on Nov 17 from Kupwara district, about 120 km northwest of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Kashmir.

"An independent investigation has been ordered into the missing of three villagers Kupwara," Lt General Satish Dua, the General Officer Commanding (GoC) of Indian military told media in Srinagar.

Following their missing reports in local police station, police arrested the accused trooper for questioning.

“Whenever such incident takes place in which police and judiciary has taken cognizance of the incidence, army routinely institutes an investigation, so army investigation is also on and if anyone is actually found to be wrong army will not play favorites and we committed absolutely to zero tolerance attitudes towards human rights violation," he said.
