Srinagar: A Pakistani militant, who  belongs to Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT), was killed in a brief encounter with the security forces in Srinagar on Sunday, police said.

The gunfight broke out at Darbagh Dhara area of Harwan in the city during the wee hours.

Police identified the slain militant as Saifulla alias Abu Khalid alias Shawaz, a resident of Karachi, Pakistan.

"The terrorist Saifulla infiltrated into the Kashmir valley in 2016 and was active in general area of Harwan and involved in several terror crimes," police said in a tweet quoting Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar as saying.

Saifullah is the third Pakistani militant killed in Srinagar in over a month.

"03 Pakistani terrorists killed in Srinagar City within 33 days. They were involved in several terror crimes including attacks on Police/SFs & civilian killings. It shows that Pakistan is hell-bent to disturb peace in the Valley especially in Srinagar City," police said in another tweet.
